Thimbles

Finger Thimble.

A sewers essential, a thimble protects your fingers and allows you to push the needle through the fabric. Made of metal its end and side have special 'dimples' to prevent the needle from slipping as you push it through the fabric. Ever played 'Hunt The Thimble' ? (Ask any sewer - one thimble is never enough!)

It should sit comfortably on your finger, whichever finger you use best. (I wear mine on my right middle finger). They come in a variety of sizes:

5 - is the smallest approx 14mm

3 - is approx 15mm

1 - is approx 16mm

0 - is approx 17mm

00 - is approx 17.5mm

0000 - is the biggest size approx 18.5mm
